This past Friday I moved in to my new home at West Chester University. Only a 45 minute drive from my house, it was a completely different experience than the twelve hour drive last year. Since I hadn't unpacked much, my parents and I were able to finish setting up my room in an hour, and off they left for work. I think that the goodbye was 100X easier than last year because I know that I can just drive home whenever I want. Friday afternoon and evening I went to orientation with the freshmen. Most of the information did not really apply to me, however, I was able to meet people that live on my floor in the dorm.
Saturday morning my roommate moved in and I was able to get a parking pass (one of the last ones!!) before lunch. The day was filled with exploring and just getting used to the area.
Sunday was probably my favorite day so far because I was able to go to church with two friends that go to my church back home. I had an awesome time meeting new people from my new church family. After lunch, I hung out with my roommate and her friends from last year, whom I knew from before. We had a great time catching up before going to sleep early.
Monday, yesterday, was the first day of classes. I am taking four, which you can read about in my first post. All of my teachers are male (which isn't a bad thing just different than what I am used to) and seem to be very easy going. The one class that seems like a lot of work is my US Gov class. There is a boatload of reading due each week which there is quizzes on, so no slacking allowed.
Today I was able to meet my NSE adviser here at WCU. Daniele is super nice and I look forward to getting to know the two other students studying here from other colleges. Now, I am off to finish up homework due before my 3 o'clock class. Hope everyone reading this is having a good day.
