My time at West Chester is coming to an end. I have so many conflicting emotions about leaving this place, that I can't even decide how to describe it in words...but here I go. I came here to be closer to home and to be with friends that I knew from my childhood. To fit into a place so easily, and to make new friends on top of that, is an amazing feeling that I am definitely going to have a hard time giving up. However, I miss my friends at USC a lot and I cannot wait to see them. The professors and advisers that I had this semester have taught me so much; both about the subject they were assigned to teach and about general life. Honestly, the people I have come into contact with here at West Chester have seemed more down to earth than the people I met at South Carolina, and I really enjoyed that. It is great to have goals and dreams, but thinking realistically is very helpful. This semester I am mostly grateful for CRU and the church that I attended. It's hard to describe to a nonbeliever what it feels like to grow in your faith, but I guess it can be related to getting an A on a test multiplied by a billion. The friendships I have made through CRU are some of the best friendships I have had in my entire life. I have had so much fun playing basketball late at night with these people, and considering I hate basketball and staying up late, that says a lot. I wish nothing but the best for these friends.
My journey here was definitely different than I expected, but as I have said before, I would never change it. I learned so much about myself and I truly believe that I am ready to face whatever the world throws at me.
The Monday before Thanksgiving I was able to attend a 76ers game, for free, through my residence hall. Then I traveled to Pittsburgh to celebrate the holiday with my family. I came back to a week full of basketball and eating with friends. (and class, don't worry, I still go to class) This weekend I went to two different malls, had a girl's movie night with some friends, attended QVC's Christmas parade, and went to church/a Christmas sing a long. Today a lady from my church back home took me and a friend to lunch. I have been having a great time, the only downside is that it is getting a little too chilly here... another reason to go back to South Carolina. Below are some pictures from the past two-ish weeks. Finals begin next week and then it's home for winter break. I'll miss you West Chester :'(.
P.S. I FINALLY GOT TO REGISTER FOR ALL THE CLASSES I WANTED TO TAKE NEXT SEMESTER!!! Never underestimate the power of email. I also got selected to peer-lead a CSLP course next semester. *insert very happy face here*
